Free images for you - Antique Springtime Postcards

Rollicking Times - postmark 1908

R.T. card back

Wishing everyone Rollicking Times today!

Came across some more antique postcards during the never-ending cleanup. I purchased these from MFvintage.etsy.com last year. (If you collect old postcards, be sure to check the shop out.)

Feel free to use these images for your projects. If you need a better resolution, let me know & I'll email to you. If you make anything with them, I'd love to see what you come up with.

This little lady has before & after shots. The left is the original postcard & the other is cleaned up in Photoshop elements.

The gorgeous weather & sugared up 6 yr old are calling, so I'll be running around in the backyard today instead of finishing my piece for the Steampunk Wonderland contest.

By the way, this competition will be up for public voting. I'll post a link once it is available. I've seen a few of the entries & they are fantastic!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hope your year is off to a great start. For 1 person it is about to get even better! On 12/21 I posted a new giveway from sponsor Uprinting.com. They are giving away 100 custom printed postcards to 1 random winner.

So with some help from random.org, the lucky winner is.....

Glimmering Prize!!

Congrats! I will contact you today with details of how to to claim your prize.

Many thanks to all who entered this random drawing. It has been fun reading how you would like to use 100 4" x 6" postcards. Glimmering prize will be using them "to announce next years craft show schedule."

Care to try your luck again? I'm hosting a new random drawing right now. It is sponsored by the mixed media artist Jodi Ohl. Next Thursday 1 random winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to her Etsy shop LucySweetLucy. All who enter a comment on this blog before 1 a.m. (EST) on 1/7 will be entered in the drawing. To enjoy some of Jodi's colorful art & thoughts, click here for the last artist feature of 2009. Also, if you are cruising the blog-o-sphere tomorrow, pop by for a photo-tour of Jodi's new studio.

A quick update on my "Secrets" piece. The weather is being uncooperative - need the humidity to drop to I can spray a protective coating on the art & frame. Hopefully will have a photo to post on Sunday. (fingers crossed)
-------
Totally off topic: I had a good chuckle yesterday - my final Etsy sale of 2010 was for this Tempus Incognitum Necklace, which I'd cheekily described as broken time travel/viewing device. Seemed like the perfect item for the last day of the decade...

By the way, the Illustration Friday prompt is Renewal. And don't forget, the new Melange prompt is Illuminating. So, click through & play along if you get the chance.

Freebies for Friday

Hey there. Haven't had time to finish any new stuff. But thought I'd post pics for any one who wants to use them in a project.

For many years I collected vintage / antique postcards.

No rhyme or reason, just images that caught my eye.

Sometimes what interested me most was the untold stories. Love the old cash register in this one. Click on any of these to enlarge.

Eventually I need to put some on DeviantArt as stock images. It is always fun to see what people do with them. If you make anything with these, I'd love to see it. Happy to post your creation on this blog too, if you want.

Barbara Moustafa of Rusty Mermaid Dolls has done some fun digital collages with pics I've posted in the past. I'll try to get some up here this weekend.

Illustration Friday's prompt to day is Idle. I've got a couple of ideas but it may be a few days before I get a chance to set one down. In the meantime, go see what other fun art has been inspired by this prompt.

Oh, Melange prompt is Harbor this week. Click HERE to visit or add your own.

If you're looking for some more fun free images, ArtFreebies always has some great stuff in the archives & more pieces every day or so. There is a cool owl posted there today for the Soartful Saturdays art challenge.

Final Note: If you haven't yet entered next Thursday's Giveaway, what's holding you back? You could be the lucky winner! The fab prize provided by OnlinePosterPrinting.com is a 16" x 20" canvas print of your favorite summer photo. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment describing your pic before noon (EST) 7/31. For contest details CLICK HERE
