Finally Made Some Drawing Time

latest work in progress

Hey there. How've you been? I finally stole some time from other demands last night & started playing with a new drawing. Been getting a little cranky lately - not creating does that to me.

Listening to Baby Seal Club the last couple of days. The music went into my ear, then under my skin & started leaking out my fingers. I remembered some great musician photos I'd seen over at b-e-c-k-y-stock on DeviantArt. Been waiting for an excuse to play with one of them, so out came the watercolor pencils. I still have a way to go on the piece but responsibilities beckon....

But before I go, if you're craving some fun indie music visit BabySealClub.net. You can listen to a bunch of tunes & even download a couple. I think my favorite might be Robert but I keep changing my mind.

nicked this off their website

I found out about of these guys from Choklit-Chanteuse, who is in the band. We're both on the Etsy SteamTeam. Her super-yummy Etsy shop Atelier Choklit (adornment for tarts) is full of gorgeous items. Even the product shots are luscious.

If you have the time, be sure to stop by Choklit's blog. She's featuring Ramona Falls & their fabulously bizarre I Say Fever video right now. If you haven't seen it yet, you've gotta get over there & check it out.

By the way, the prompt for Illustration Friday is "Hatch". I don't think I'll have time to play this week, but pop on over & see what everyone else is up to. Be sure to add your own illo if you're feeling inspired. If you do submit something, come back here & let me know, okay? I'd love to see what you've been up to.

Final Note: Next Thursday's giveaway prize is a $10 gift certificate to GardenDelightsArts on Etsy. Just leave a comment on this blog before 1 a.m. (EST) on 12/17 to enter this random drawing. If you'd like to find out a bit more about the artist behind this shop, click here.
