Playing with a drawing of Etsy SteamTeam member Wenchie today. Hopefully she won't mind the liberties I tend to take when putting my spin on a portrait. Not sure if it is done yet. I am at that walk-away-for-a-couple-of-days-so-I-can-get-a-fresh-perspective point.
If you get a chance pop by her Etsy shop Wenchie's Sacred Relics . She's got some fabulous pieces like this necklace:
Yay! The artwork for the Twilight book club on ZNE is up. Looks like only a few of us played for chapter 1. I'm hoping more members will jump aboard as we get further in. I think you can see the other entries if you click HERE & just scroll down the page. Here's my final piece.

Supposed to be cleaning the studio today. Spent too much time puttering with everything I found. As usual. So, the place still looks like a cyclone passed through. Sadly, this is the neatest corner in the room. Sorry the lighting is so lousy
I did take a bunch of scary before shots but I think I'll wait until there are afters so I don't thoroughly embarrass myself.
By the way, no Thursday Giveaway this week. Great prize for next week though (if I do say so myself ). The lucky winner gets a customized art box. Click HERE for details & pics. Then just leave a comment before noon (EST) July 9th to enter the random drawing
My sis & her husband are visiting for the weekend so I may be scarce. Chomping at the pencil, um, bit to find out what tomorrow's IF prompt is though. Like I don't have enough projects to finish, eh? Silly me. In case I don't make it back in time, I want to wish everyone a great weekend! Have fun!
Good portrait of Wenchie! Looks just like her.
ReplyDeleteloving the top portrait and great studio shot!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Stacey. I've finally figured out what I like about your portraits. You have the wonderful ability of placing tons of expression and emotion with simplicity in faces. You can say in dashes what others can't accomplish in entire chapters. It's the eyes first, then the mouth.
ReplyDeleteLove the new portraits Stacey, you draw circles, (and lines) around us. Studio is looking great!
ReplyDeleteI love the peek at your workspace Stacey!
ReplyDeleteHi Stacey,
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind to visit my blog and leave comments I thought I'd come visit you. :o)
Now that pic of the studio doesn't look like a hurricane/tornado/mess.
I told you in my response to your comment... I just pretend to be neat!
Again.. thanks for visiting... send over all your friends... it's lonely on a new blog. ;o)
Fabulous, I just love the animation image backed by the green leaves!

seems like we've been commenting on the same blogs! love your drawings and I must say that I'd be happy if my neatest corner was as neat as yours!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes in the first portrait go so well with the caption! How I envy your drawing skills....
ReplyDeleteHelloo there!
ReplyDeletecool portrait!
Oh yeah my sudio is also a huge mess as well! Haven't got the courage to drive myself to do something about it yet! lol!
Have a great week!
Francisco
Hoping your 4th was wonderful, also! : )

I love the portrait! Who else are you going to do from the team? I can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteThat HUGE drawing looks spectacular!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see until now that Sunset Boulevard is one of your favourite films. It's my #1 favourite! Also saw the musical 16 times. London and NY. :-D

p.s. Do you use an easel or sit at the table? I actually stand in front of a high table when I paint / make collages. Sometimes I think I should use an easel but when I did it just felt very, very awkward.

That portrait is awesome! I've had this starred for a bit so I could remember to come back and tell you. I love the greens and yellows on that red paper.
ReplyDeleteYou're being too hard on yourself for your studio shot. It looks like you have some neat stuff in there.
Hi, went back to read a bit. Fun to see your work space.
